Tackle Football and Cheer FAQ
When is Registration?
Regular online registration will begin on XXX and will be open until spots are filled.
What date does practice begin and when does the season typically end?
Practice will begin on Monday, July 23rd. Regular season games begin on XXX and
are every Saturday. Most teams play 8 regular season games which pushes the end
of the regular season to XXX. For divisions that have playoffs and teams
that make the playoffs, the playoffs begin on XXX. Bowl games will be available
for a few weeks after the regular season ends as well.
How many times a week do teams practice and for how long?
The answer to this depends on the head coach. Teams are allowed to practice up to
10 hours per week before Labor Day or the first regular season game. After Labor
day practices are limited to 6 hours per week. In the month of August (before the
regular season begins) a 1st Grade team will typically practice 3 times a week for
up to 2 hours. Most other teams will practice around 4 times a week for up to 2
hours. After the regular season begins, a typical 1st Grade team will practice twice
a week with games on Saturday. Most other teams will practice 3 times a week with
games on Saturdays.
It is important to note that all practice times mentioned above do NOT include water
break time. For each hour of practice there must be at least 10 minutes of
mandatory water breaks. Water break time does not count against the allowed
practice time.
