VFA 7 on 7 Passing League

2012 will see a lot of changes versus the 2011 VFA 7 on 7 Passing League.  The 2012 league will involve other organizations in the St. Johns River Youth Football Conference and also additional teams outside of the conference.

The primary purpose of this league is to provide a program that gives the middle school to high school aged football player more instruction and experience that will benefit their tackle football skills directly.

The 7 on 7 Passing League is more representative of the passing game in a tackle football game. There are no running plays, no blockers and no rushing the passer. Five eligible receivers go out for a pass and the QB has 4 seconds to throw the ball. The defense has 7 players defending the pass. This setup allows coaches to teach the real fundamentals of the pass game in tackle football and defending the pass on the defensive side.

There will be three age divisions for the league:

• 6th/7th grade
• 8th/9th grade
• 10th/11th grade

All players will practice together with the same set of experienced coaches and be taught a consistent set of fundamental skills on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.  Coaches will divide the players up into teams for competition based on skill level and appropriate position.

Other important information:

• Registration Fee - $75

• Walk-Up Registration on Saturday 2/11, 2/18 and 2/25 at the football field at Pacetti Bay Middle School from 2pm to 4pm.

• Open to current 6th graders through current 11th graders

• Practices will be held at Palencia Park. Practices in the month of March every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  Practices in the month of April every Tuesday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

• Practice Games on April 7th, 14th and 21st against other organizations.  These games may be at Pacetti Bay Middle School or at another organization's field in the area.

• The season concludes with a tournament for all teams on Saturday, April 28th
